TheJacksForAllTrades @MrOnePlusOneIs3 it's never too late to train a dog, it's just harder if they're older 02/05/2012 - 11:22:40

Honeybowtie @NextMrsBradPitt My dog`s problems arose after being attacked by a staff bull. You`re commenting about something you have no clue of.Border Collie`s are NOT difficult to train" either. 01/13/2012 - 18:19:51
Honeybowtie @AlexandraVioletta Border Collie`s are excellent family dogs. 01/13/2012 - 18:15:07
Honeybowtie @NextMrsBradPitt I`ve been seeing an expert on Border Collies..His information`s genius..My dog has aggression issues. He lacks no exercise I own two Borders". Everyone assumes Border Collie`srequire 24 hr a day attention.I`ve learned it`s not the case. Murphy`s coming along brilliantly in his rehabilitation plan. All the same, thanks for sharing your words. 01/13/2012 - 18:04:51
NextMrsBradPitt @Honeybowtie They *need* to get enough exercise a day. A 20 min walk on the lead down the street won't cut it. I'm talking about a full hour of constant running or ball fetching. I've had several foster dogs with the same issues and the main reason is because they don't get enough exercise. As you saw on the video, collie's will keep going, and going and going. Collie's aren't easy dogs. Trust me it is possible, I have four and they're *all* asleep scattered around my feet :) 01/13/2012 - 16:48:39
NextMrsBradPitt @soupdragon151 I have four collies, a collie x lurcher, a toy poodle and two cats. So long as they get out for an hours run a day, they will happily sleep scattered around my living room in front of the fire - just like they're doing right now in fact. I grew up with my oldest, who *tried* to herd me as a pup - after being scolded a couple of times, she understood. The times you'll see Collies with problems is when they don't get enough exercise - and who's faults that, the dogs or the owners? 01/13/2012 - 16:43:40
AlexandraVioletta @soupdragon151 Thats the reason why a BC does NOT fit into the most families. It's SO BEAUTIFUL to see a BC working with sheeps! 01/08/2012 - 18:29:00

walk4trot2canter3 Coolest dogs ever! 12/22/2011 - 15:37:04
Honeybowtie @soupdragon151 Lol,,I know that one oh so well,,herding" is their specialty. He like`s to chase cars, and round up everyone in sight. 12/19/2011 - 12:44:56
soupdragon151 @Honeybowtie they're really working dogs rather than pets, they have too much energy, get bored easily without something to do and they have a strong herding instinct, they'll try and herd anything including the kids 12/19/2011 - 03:04:14

Honeybowtie My Border Collie`s are complete head cases..the male attempts to attack a passer by almost everyday,,he`s become aggressive with me too.The female`s has a much better temperament, but,,she behaves like she`s on crack 24.7,She wants to play non stop,,and I mean, from the minute she wakes till she sleeps,,the worst is,she sleeps for only a couple of hours then does the same thing,,run`s up and down crazy,.. I may have the wrong breed. 11/09/2011 - 11:29:24
Gilroben Someday we'll get to the point where Border Collies will teach humans to herd sheep. 11/02/2011 - 20:37:52

AdmiralofU2 14 people can't train their dog 09/17/2011 - 13:42:37
premsaggar @MrOnePlusOneIs3 Many borders don't start training until they are 2! The older they are the easier they are to train. You want your dog to have excellent obedience before you train them with sheep and that comes with time and older age. If your doggie loves sheep then go for it. Many borders prefer to chase vs herding so you could try frisbee or tennis balls if sheep aren't as much fun. All borders herd but some like to chase more (prey drive). My border is a chaser and loves the frisbee :). 09/14/2011 - 21:44:27
